Blackhawks hockey is set to unofficially return later this evening when the prospects hit the ice in St. Paul, Minnesota, for the first of two games at the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase. They’ll face off against the St. Louis Blues’ prospects at 6 pm CT, with the game being streamed on Blackhawks.com and the Blackhawks app.

The Athletic: Just two days after the NHL reinstated the five 2018 Hockey Canada players, Chris Johnston is already reporting that goaltender Carter Hart is expected to sign a multi-year contract when he’s eligible on October 1st. I’m sure more rumblings on the other four players are coming soon.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Flower is headed home! Future Hall of Fame goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury signed a PTO with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday afternoon to officially retire with the club. Fleury is expected to appear in one final preseason game with the Penguins on September 27th at PPG Paints Arena.

MayorsManor: According to John Hoven, former Blackhawks forward Corey Perry suffered an injury while skating with his new Kings’ teammates in Los Angeles on Friday. Perry was said to be taken off the ice in a wheelchair. Sportsnet’s Elliote Friedman later confirmed the reported an added that Perry is undergoing further evaluation.
