The Pittsburgh Penguins‘ forward group officially became more crowded as the team confirmed they’ve signed forward Robby Fabbri to a Professional Tryout Agreement.
Actually, his name was on the training camp roster released on Wednesday afternoon.
Fabbri, 29, is a talented left wing with a high compete level, but injuries have consistently hampered his career. Fabbri will now join a very crowded group battling for a spot in the Penguins’ lineup.
Last season, Fabbri played just 44 games with the Anaheim Ducks, scoring just eight goals with eight assists. He played the previous five seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, playing 234 games, with 66 goals and 127 points.
Fabbri has played only 432 games over his nine-year NHL career.
Penguins training camp begins Thursday morning with the first practice at 8:45 a.m. Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas will also speak to the media.
