Brossoit, who signed a two-year, $6.6 million contract with the Blackhawks on July 1, 2024, missed all of last season after undergoing knee surgery in August of 2024.
A sixth-round pick (164th overall) by the Calgary Flames in 2011, Brossoit made his NHL debut during the 2014-15 season with the Edmonton Oilers.
The 32-year-old’s best season was in 2023-24 as a member of the Winnipeg Jets, when he appeared in 23 games, going 15-5-2 with a .927 save percentage and 2.00 goals-against average.
Brossoit won the Stanley Cup in 2023 as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Port Alberni, B.C., native has appeared in 140 career NHL games, split between the Oilers, Jets and Golden Knights.
