Ottawa Senators defenceman Tyler Kleven left Sunday’s pre-season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs with an apparent injury and did not return.
Kleven took a hard spill into the end boards and left the Sens’ bench shortly after.
Head coach Travis Green did not have an update on Kleven after the game, outside of saying that the move was “precautionary,” TSN’s Claire Hanna reports.

The 23-year-old had two hits and one shot on goal in 13:20 of ice time during Ottawa’s 4-3 loss.
A native of Fargo, N.D., Kleven had four goals and six assists for 10 points in 79 games last season for the Sens.
Ottawa will continue their pre-season schedule Tuesday night in Toronto.
