The Nashville Predators are dealing with injuries to two prospects as training camp opens for the 2025-26 season.
Defenseman Tanner Molendyk is day-to-day with a lower body injury and Cameron Reid is out with a lower body injury, the team announced on Sept. 18.

Molendyk and Reid were both present at Nashville’s rookie camp, which began on Sept. 12. Molendyk left the first rookie practice early after delivering a hit along the boards during a drill and did not play in any of the three rookie tournament games in Florida. Reid played in all three games, but left the game against Florida early with an undisclosed injury.
Both players are first-round picks by Nashville — Molendyk selected at No. 24 overall in 2023 and Reid selected at No. 21 overall in 2025.
For Molendyk, this is an inauspicious start to his pro career. He is expected to compete for an NHL roster spot or begin his pro career with the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL. Reid is expected to be sent back to the Kitchener Rangers in the OHL to play in his third junior season.
Luke Evangelista, 23, was not part of the first day of on-ice activities on Sept. 18 due to contract negotiations with the Nashville Predators. Players not under contract are not permitted to participate in on-ice activities. Until the two sides agree on a deal, Evangelista will not practice. Evangelista scored 10 goals and added 22 assists for the Predators last year while averaging 13:52 minutes over 68 games.
