Boston Bruins News & Notes:

The Bruins dropped their preseason opener 5-2 on Sunday. The Bruins got goals from Patrick Brown and Morgan Geekie. Michael DiPietro allowed five goals on 21 shots in 30 minutes, and Simon Zajicek stopped all six shots he faced in the other half of the game.

New York Rangers News & Notes

The New York Rangers picked up a 5-3 win over the New Jersey Devils to begin their preseason. The Rangers got goals from Jonnny Brodzinski, Gabe Perreault, Dylan Roobroeck, Conor Sheary, and Scott Morrow. Jonathan Quick got the start in that game, stopping 12 of the 13 shots he faced. Dylan Garand also saw time for the Rangers, stopping 13 of the 15 shots he faced.

Boston Bruins

Fraser Minten spent time with the Maple Leafs and Bruins last season, appearing in 21 games between the two, recording five points on three goals and two assists. He was a minus-five with a game-winning goal. He also combined to play in 37 games in the AHL between the Marlies and Providence. Minten had 20 points on nine goals and 11 assists. He was a -12 with two power-play goals and a game-winning goal. He played in the first preseason game; he had 14:16 time on ice.

New York Rangers

Trey Fix-Wolansky last season played in 65 games for the Cleveland Monsters in the AHL. He recorded 60 points on 26 goals and 34 assists. Fix-Wolansky was a minus-four with eight power-play goals and seven game-winning goals. Wolansky finished 14th in the league in points and 18th in goals.
