Bob Duff’s story this morning details how Emmitt Finnie is making a statement with his play at the prospect series against the Dallas Stars, training camp, the Red & White game and now his first preseason game Monday when he registered a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks.

But fellow prospect Michael Brandsegg-Nygard is also saying something with his play. His line in Monday’s game: two assists, three shots, four hits, one blocked shot, one penalty.

This is a prospect who is involved every time he takes the ice.  DHN presented him this summer as a player who could start on the team as a role player and then eventually evolve into a top six forward. The combative, skilled Norwegian forward seems to improve every time he takes the ice.
