Recap: The Golden Knights hosted the Utah Mammoth for their third exhibition match of the preseason. It was s special evening for VGK fans as they got their first glimpse of new star forward Mitch Marner in a Golden Knights jersey. Utah took a 1-0 advantage 15:21 in the opening twenty minutes. The Mammoth doubled their lead 66 seconds into the second period.
Ten minutes into the final frame, star center Jack Eichel received an assist from Mitch Marner to cut Utah’s lead in half. A late fight led to a VGK power play and Eichel capitalized once again to tie the game.
Shea Theodore sealed it in OT with a nifty breakaway move.
Vegas will get back on the ice tomorrow night in San Jose. Puck drop for preseason game #4 is scheduled for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason)
Analysis: Extremely low event, even for a preseason game. Maybe the most exciting thing that happened in the game was the last-minute fight between Cole Reinhardt and Gabe Smith. That was a banger. Oh, I guess Marner assists Eichel, and then Eichel scored again, that was cool too. (Recap by Ken)
Ken’s Three VGK Stars
*** Mitch Marner
** Jeremy Davies
* Shea Theodore
Shea Theodore with his classic shootout move. Adin Hill’s diving poke check was the real highlight though.
VGK are now 1-2 in the preseason. The last time they did that… they won the Cup.

Hey! Mitch Marner to Jack Eichel out in front! It’s expensive, but it’s awesome.

There have been 3 shots between the two teams in 15 minutes of this game.
This is what we were afraid with having Eichel and Marner together right?!? (I’m joking)
