As we know, the issue of the second center for the Montreal Canadiens continues to be a hot topic.

Reinforcements at center could come from a team with whom the Canadiens’ general manager completed a major trade in 2025.

In fact, everything will depend on the start of the season for Patrick Roy’s men, and if his team begins the 2025-2026 campaign on the wrong foot, the new general manager, Mathieu Darche, could very well unload some contracts – and Horvat’s contract would free up significant cap space for the Islanders.

RUMOR: Bo Horvat traded by the Islanders if the team has a poor start to the season

If he were to become available for a trade, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Vancouver Canucks (his former team), and the Canadiens would be among the interested clubs, according to Mirtle and Siegel.

Those are the three names that were mentioned.

Bo Horvat scored 28 goals last year, but he is set to earn $8.5 million per season through 2031, which could dissuade some general managers from making a move.
