The Penguins have won two straight preseason games, most recently picking up a 4-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday. They got goals from Sidney Crosby, Ville Koivunen, and two from Rickard Rakell. Sergei Murashov got the start in goal, stopping 12 of the 13 shots he faced, while Marc-Andre Fleury played the third, stopping all eight shots he faced.

Detroit Red Wings News & Notes:

The Red Wings started the preseason with two straight wins and have since dropped two straight. They most recently lost to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, 5-2. The Red Wings got goals from Patrick Kane and Marco Kasper. Sebastian Cossa played the whole game, stopping 16 of the 20 shots he faced.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Joona Koppanen played in 11 games for the Penguins last season, scoring one goal, and finished as a minus-three. In 56 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the AHL. He had 23 points on eight goals and 15 assists. He was a plus-five with a shorthanded goal and a game-winning goal.

Detroit Red Wings

Carter Mazur was injured after his lone game with the Red Wings last season. In 20 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins, he recorded 15 points on eight goals and seven assists. He was a minus-two with two power-play goals, and a shorthanded goal.
