Dallas junior field hockey player Caitlyn Mizzer made history when her overtime goal against Wallenpaupack gave the Mountaineers the victory, and also, was the 50th of her career.

Did you know coming into the Wallenpaupack match how close you were to the 50 goals: I had an idea, but my coaches kept checking up on me, and kept asking if I knew how close I was.

Is that added pressure knowing how close you were to a milestone like that: For me, it wasn’t. My biggest goal was to make sure our team was winning, and we were doing well in terms of getting the highest seed possible in the postseason.

How did that moment feel, especially since it was a game-winner in overtime: It was just amazing. The play went from the middle of the field to my teammate on the right side. And she crossed it across the cage, and I was able to hit it in. I’m always going to remember it, but my first reaction is that we won the game.

Talk about Dallas field hockey. Are you happy with how the team is playing right now: I am very happy, I feel like we are doing well. Our No. 1 goal was to make sure we remained undefeated at home, and now, it’s to pick up as many wins as we can.
