Now, another lottery pick has officially been waived, with the Carolina Hurricanes placing former No. 10 overall pick Tyson Jost on waivers, after acquiring him just a season ago.

Last year with Carolina, Jost tallied 4 goals and 9 points in 39 games played with the ‘Canes, but with the 27-year old also playing 14 games in the AHL, he was always going to be a waiver candidate this summer.

On top of Jost, Oskar Olausson, a former No. 28 overall pick has also been waived following a season in which he played just 2 NHL games, appearing in 62 games in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles.

Beyond those two big names, the Hurricanes and Sharks both waived five players while Calgary waived four, and with the NHL season now just a week away, expect to see some bigger and more intriguing names hitting waivers in the coming days.
