The Dallas Stars kept rolling through their preseason slate with a 5-3 win in St. Louis over the Blues. With the win, Dallas moved to 4-1 in the preseason, with two of those wins coming against St. Louis.

Dallas jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 5:35 of the game thanks to goals from Ilya Lyubushkin and Wyatt Johnston, but St. Louis worked its way back into the game with goals from Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg. Broberg tied the game at 2-2 with just under five minutes left in the second period.

The Stars regained the lead for good before the second intermission when Radek Faksa, who is back with Dallas after spending last season in St. Louis, found the back of the net against his old team. Johnston and Tyler Seguin each notched assists on Faksa’s goal.

Seguin extended Dallas’ lead to 4-2 with a goal just 50 seconds into the third period. St. Louis cut the lead to 4-3 with about seven minutes left, but the Stars held on as Jason Robertson put the game away with an empty net goal.

In Dallas’ 5-3 win, the Stars outshot the Blues 30-24 and Dallas goalie Casey DeSmith stopped 21 of the 24 shots he faced. Seguin led the way for the Stars with a goal and two assists, while Johnston finished with a goal and an assist.

The Stars finish up their preseason schedule on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche at the American Airlines Center at 5 p.m.
