Seattle is sending forward Daniel Sprong to the New Jersey Devils for a 2026 seventh-round NHL Draft pick, the team announced Friday afternoon.

Sprong was on his second tenure with the Kraken after being acquired in a November trade from the Vancouver Canucks. The 27 year old from Amsterdam had two points (one goal, one assist) in 10 games with Seattle this season, and played an additional 19 games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the Kraken’s American Hockey League affiliate.

The NHL trade deadline was noon Friday.

Here’s a full look at what the Kraken brought in and what they sent out this week.

Seattle Kraken trade deadline
Acquired

• F Michael Eyssimont (from Tampa Bay)

• 2025 second-round pick (Toronto via Tampa Bay)

• 2026 first-round pick (Tampa Bay)
• 2026 sixth-round pick (New Jersey)

• 2027 first-round pick (Tampa Bay)
• 2027 second-round pick (Winnipeg)

Dealt away

• F Yanni Gourde (to Tampa Bay)
• F Oliver Bjorkstrand (to Tampa Bay)

• F Brandon Tanev (to Winnipeg)

• F Daniel Sprong (to New Jersey)

• 2026 fifth-round pick (to Tampa Bay)

The two first-round picks sent from Tampa Bay to Seattle are conditional. If either of the 2026 or 2027 first-rounder is in the top 10 of the draft, then the Lightning retain the pick and Seattle will receive Tampa Bay’s first-round selection and an additional third-rounder in the next year’s draft.

The Kraken are out of the playoff race, sitting second-to-last in the Pacific Division with a 26-33-4 record. They now have five picks in both the first round and second round of the next three NHL Drafts, and while they can use those picks on prospects, they’re also valuable capital to acquire players in future trades.

Seattle plays the second game of a three-game road trip at 9:30 a.m. Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers. The television broadcast of the game will air nationally on ABC.
