Las Vegas (KSNV) — The Vegas Golden Knights have announced their plans for the eighth remembrance of the 1 October tragedy from 2017.
They will host a preseason game against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday, October 1, at 6 p.m. at T-Mobile Arena.
To commemorate this occasion, the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation will donate $1 million to the Vegas Strong Fund, which oversees the construction of the 1 October Forever One Memorial.
A check presentation will take place following the team’s morning skate at City National Arena.
First responders and families of the victims will be invited to the game and will be honored with special acknowledgments.
Another moment during the game will recognize the VGK Foundation and the Vegas Strong Fund, highlighting their efforts in support of the Forever One Memorial.
Additionally, the Golden Knights will host a blood drive at City National Arena from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those interested in participating can park at the Las Vegas Ballpark lot.
Members of the Golden Knights organization will also be on hand to donate blood and support the event.
