HomeNHLECHL: Norfolk Admirals and Winnipeg Jets Renew Affiliation Agreement

The Norfolk Admirals and Winnipeg Jets have announced that they have renewed their affiliation agreement for the 2025-26 season. This will be the third year of the affiliation agreement between Winnipeg and Norfolk. Six players from the Norfolk Admirals are currently attending Training Camp with the Manitoba Moose.

Last season, the Admirals goaltending was led by Thomas Milic and Domenic DiVincentiis who are both on NHL Entry-Level deals with the Jets. Between the two goaltenders, they started 39 of the 72 games for Norfolk and won 26 of the team’s 40 games. Milic put up fantastic numbers during the Kelly Cup Playoffs, going 5-3 with a 1.61 GAA and .945SV% in nine starts.

“Craig Heisinger took a chance on us three years ago when we were searching for a true affiliation, and we feel that we have struck gold with that,” said Jeff Carr, Admirals General Manager and Head Coach. Winnipeg and Manitoba’s philosophy of people first, winning, and developing players aligns with us hand-in-hand. A special thank you goes to the work and time that Drew MacIntyre has put into the goalie development, which has fostered elite goaltending development for us.”

The Admirals also got solid contributions from players who were sent down from the Manitoba Moose last season. Defenseman Ben Zloty was one of three defensemen to lead the Admirals with six goals and finished the year with 34 points in 41 games, finishing second among defensemen in points.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with the Norfolk Admirals,” said Craig Heisinger, Senior Vice President & Director of Hockey Operations/Assistant General Manager of the Winnipeg Jets. This affiliation provides our prospects with important opportunities to develop as professional players. The Admirals’ success on the ice the past two seasons contributes to the winning environment we strive to foster within our organization.”

Forwards Ryan Chyzowski and Carson Golder both had solid stints with Norfolk last season, but have both signed elsewhere for the upcoming season. Golder, 22, had 18 goals and 14 assists for 32 points in 41 games with Norfolk. During his time in Manitoba, he had two assists in ten games. He signed with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for next season. Chyzowski, 25, put up 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points in 35 games as an Admiral. He would add a goal and an assist in 10 games with Manitoba. Chyzowski signed an AHL Deal with the Calgary Wranglers for the upcoming season. Both are big losses for the Admirals.
