Connor Ingram was Utah’s No. 1 at the start of last season.
(Bethany Baker | The Salt Lake Tribune) Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby (87) scores as Utah Hockey Club goaltender Connor Ingram (39) tries to defend during overtime in the game between the Utah Hockey Club and the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025.
The Utah Mammoth have traded goalie Connor Ingram to the Edmonton Oilers.
“We would like to thank Connor for everything he has done for the organization,” Utah general manager Bill Armstrong said in a news release. “He is a class act, great teammate, and we wish him nothing but the best.”
The Mammoth will receive unspecified “future considerations” from Edmonton. Utah will also retain $800,000 of Ingram’s salary, just over 41% of his contract.
Ingram was Utah’s starting goaltender at the beginning of last season before entering the NHL’s Player Assistance Program as he grieved the death of his mother. Ingram remained in the program for five months. When he returned to the team in August, the player and the club agreed to part ways.
Ingram played 22 games for Utah and posted a 3.27 goals against average and .882 save percentage last season. His absence led to Karel Vejmelka taking over as the No. 1 starter for the Mammoth the rest of the year.
Due to the previous uncertainty around Ingram, the Mammoth signed Vítek Vaněček to a one-year, $1.5 million contract in July for some insurance in net.
