The Capitals once again made roster cuts on Wednesday. Washington’s roster has now been trimmed to 33 players with just two preseason games left.
The Capitals placed Bogdan Trineyev, Henrik Rybinski, Graeme Clarke, and Louie Belpedio on waivers. All four players could be assigned to the AHL if no other NHL team signs them.

Trineyev, 23, signed a one-year extension with Washington this past April. He is expected to become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2025-26 season. The Russian winger has had experience with the Hershey Bears, winning the Calder Cup in 2024. Trineyev played in three preseason games for the Caps in September. He made quite an impression by recording one goal, five shots, and six hits.
Rybinski, 24, was also extended one year by the Caps over the offseason. However, he is expected to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. Like Trineyev, Rybinski was also part of the Bears’ 2024 Calder Cup squad. He played in two preseason games, averaging 14:07 of ice time.
Clarke, 24, and Belpedio, 29, both signed two-way deals with Washington over the summer. Both players will begin their first seasons in the team’s organization.
In addition, the Capitals loaned goaltender Garin Bjorklund to Hershey earlier on Wednesday.
