Montreal Canadiens

Canadiens forward Ivan Demidov participated in practice Thursday after leaving Tuesday’s 5-0 win over the Ottawa Senators.

Demidov was in visible pain and left Tuesday’s game after being slashed in the hand by Senators’ forward Nick Cousins. Cousins was fined $2,148.44 by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for the slash.

Demidov, 19, had one goal and one assist in two regular-season games last season, adding two assists in five postseason games.

The Canadiens and Senators will close out their preseasons schedules with a game on Saturday.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators practiced with the following lines ahead of tonight’s preseason game against the Blues in St. Louis, according to TSN’s Claire Hanna.

Winnipeg Jets

Jets forward Vladislav Namestnikov was a full participant in Thursday’s practice after he was pulled from Tuesday’s preaseason game by a concussion spotter, according to Jets analyst Mitchell Clinton.

Jonathan Toews, who ‘tweaked something’ against the Wild, was not at practice.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins announced that forward Bryan Rust will miss a minimum of two weeks due to a lower-body injury.

Rust, 33, had 31 goals and 65 points in 71 games last season.
