After the Vancouver Canucks played their second to last preseason game against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday, and General Manager Patrik Allvin decided that Nils Aman would be sent to waivers, and the real reason has come to the surface.

The real reason the Vancouver Canucks placed fringe forward Nils Aman of waivers

Although Aman was pushing for one of the limited spots in the Canucks lineup Aman getting cut isn’t particularly surprising with the amount of young forwards proving their worth.

Aman also did not have a strong showing in his preseason games which fully solidified his chances of making the Canucks out of camp.

There was no reality where he was going to get the best of Aatu Räty, Arshdeep Bains, Jonathan Lekkerimäki and Braeden Cootes for a spot on the roster.

Regardless of his fate to start the season, the Canucks are not the most loaded with depth at centre, and Aman’s ability jump in the lineup and not be a a liability is very valuable for head coach Adam Foote as the season progresses.

Do not be surprised if he is back with the club in the next few weeks.
