Schenectady, NY (WRGB) — Union College men’s ice hockey debuted at the new M&T Bank Center on Saturday, skating to a 1-1 tie with Army West Point.
Connor Smith scored in the third period to prevent a loss for the Garnet Chargers in their first game at the arena. It marked the program’s first debut in a new building since moving into Messa Rink in 1975.
Union returns to the ice Sunday to face Colgate.
