According to Flyers’ GM Danny Briere, defenseman Cam York is dealing with a lower-body issue. Briere described it as a day-to-day issue that could be week-to-week – said we should know more as the day progresses.

Briere said, “At the moment, it’s a day-to-day. We’re trying to find out a little bit more. Are we looking at a week? Are we looking at two weeks, two days?” The Flyers are clearly uncertain about the significance of York’s injury.
Now, York’s availability for Thursday in Florida is uncertain. Dennis Gilbert, who cleared waivers this weekend, will remain with the Flyers until they know what is going on with York. As a reminder, official rosters must be submitted to the league by 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday.
York missed nine games in 2022 with a lower-body injury, as well as 13 games in 2024 with an upper-body injury.
As expected, York was not skating with the team at Monday’s practice in Voorhees.
The Flyers’ current roster holds 23 players, including York. If Gilbert were to play in place of the injured defenseman, the Flyers would need to place York on IR, which would require him to be out for a minimum of seven games. That would rule him out for the season opener.
With the extent of the injury unknown, an update will be provided once more information becomes available.
