Montreal Canadiens News & Notes:
After exceeding the expectations of many last season and earning a playoff spot, the Canadiens made further moves to improve their team, adding defenseman Noah Dobson and forward Zachary Bolduc. The Canadiens are also looking forward to their first full season of Russian forward and rising star, Ivan Demidov. The Canadiens will look to start the season off strong and prove they belong in the playoff conversation going forward.
Toronto Maple Leafs News & Notes:
The Toronto Maple Leafs will now begin a new era, one without Mitch Marner. While opinions have varied on Marner and his play, the Leafs have now turned the corner and added some depth to their lineup, with Nicholas Roy, Dakota Joshua, and Matias Maccelli joining the team. The Leafs will continue to shift to Berube-style hockey, as they look to be a team that is hard to play against, as they look to start their new era strong.

Players To Watch:
Montreal Canadiens
Noah Dobson will make his regular-season debut and should provide a boost to the Canadiens’ offense from the blueline, but how long will it take to make mesh with his new teammates? After a down year with the Islanders last season, Dobson will look to return to his prior form, while giving tough decisions to their opponents as they now look to match up lines against either Dobson or Lane Hutson.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Eyes are on Auston Matthews in Toronto as he has a new right wing playing alongside him. Matthews wasn’t healthy last season, and after feeling much healthier coming into this season, he may reach some milestones, with the Leafs’ goal record only 19 goals away. Maccelli will get the first look alongside Matthews and will look to create open space and use his high hockey IQ to create offense for Toronto’s top line.
