The Penguins got off to a great start to the regular season as they beat the New York Rangers 3-0 on Tuesday. Justin Brazeau scored the first goal of the season for the Penguins at 19:28 in the period. Brazeau would score again in the third period on an empty net and Blake Lizotte would score 20 seconds later on an empty net also. Evgeni Malkin had two assists in the win and Ryan Shea, Anthony Mantha and Connor Dewar also added an assist. Thursday’s game is the first of two straight at home for the Penguins. They will host the Rangers on Saturday.
