The Pegula Ice Arena was packed Thursday night for Penn State Men’s Hockey’s home opener, and many fans were there to see new Nittany Lions star, Gavin McKenna.

The number 4 ranked Nittany Lions played host to the Clarkson Golden Knights.

They were the first to score just 69 seconds into the game, but that’s when top NHL prospect Gavin McKenna responded.

He assisted Aiden Fink on Penn State’s first goal, but Thursday night’s effort was not what Penn State fans were hoping for.

They dropped their home opener to unranked Clarkson, 6 to 4.

They’ll face the Golden Knights again Friday night at Pegula Arena at 7.
