TV/Radio:Â FanDuel Sports Network/97.1 FM
Hot: Fans after Thursday’s horror show against Montreal. John Gibson allowed five goals on 13 shots in his Detroit debut, and a team trying to end its playoff drought was booed off the ice.
Spotlight: Cam Talbot will be in the net for the Wings. Jonatan Berggren and Jacob Bernard-Docker are in the lineup tonight. Elmer Soderblom and Travis Harmonic are out.
Absence: James van Riemsdyk was activated on Friday, with Eric Gustafsson going to Grand Rapids. JVR likely will make his Detroit debut next week.
Story: The Red Wings are trying to avoid another slow start to the season. Tonight’s game is the first of a home-and-home, with the Wings at Toronto on Monday (Thanksgiving Day in Canada) for a 2 p.m. game. That time was moved up from the previously announced 4 p.m. start due to the Toronto Blue Jays playing in the ALCS that night.
