The Chicago Blackhawks play their second home game of the 2025-26 season on Monday as they welcome the Utah Mammoth to the United Center. Here’s where to catch the action:

The Chicago Blackhawks are 0-2-1 to begin the Jeff Blashill era. However, the record beginning with a zero is not fully indicative of how the Hawks have played. They’ve played fast, they’ve played tough, and they’ve put themselves in positions to win. Sadly, that instinct and ability to put away games is still evading this club. Especially in the team’s home opening loss to the Montreal Canadiens where the Blackhawks allowed to go-ahead goal with 15 seconds remaining.

Nonetheless, another tough task lies ahead on Monday night. While a large majority of Blackhawks fans are likely to tune in for the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football, this contest is yet another quality test for this youth-led team. For the second straight game, the Blackhawks also get to play at the United Center after a pair of games on the road to kick off the campaign.

Through three games, Frank Nazar, Teuvo Teravainen, and Connor Bedard lead the team in scoring. The team’s youth is performing admirably to start the campaign, and Teravainen is complimenting the young stars nicely in his second year since returning to Chicago. However, other names like Andre Burakovsky, Tyler Bertuzzi and Ryan Donato will have to start getting involved offensively.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Utah Mammoth Preview

The Blackhawks lost their last game in overtime to the Boston Bruins. Connor Bedard scored his first of the season and assisted on Louis Crevier’s goal. Jason Dickinson missed most of the game with an injury. What’s most encouraging is how the Hawks’ young defensemen seem to adjust to Jeff Blashill’s aggressive neutral zone forechecks.

As noted, the Blackhawks are 0-2-1, looking for their first win of the season. However, the Utah Mammoth have only played twice, skating to a 1-1-0 record. Dylan Guenther has continued his torrid pace this season after a 60-point season in 2024-25. Former Blackhawk Nick Schmaltz also spearheads the scoring, while Logan Cooley and a mix of other follow. Cooley is one of Utah’s most important players, and his current contract dispute is not something either side will want to drag out for long.

Utah is no easy task for the Blackhawks, but Saturday’s sting could push the Blackhawks forward with their best performance of the season and a big win at home on Monday.
