New food at New Jersey Devils games this season
The Devils kick off their home hockey season on Oct. 16. See the new additions to the concession lineup here.
At long last, it’s finally time for the Devils home opener, becoming the last team in the NHL to play in front of their home fans to start the 2025-26 season.
The Devils welcome in the Florida Panthers — the defending, back-to-back Stanley Cup champions — on Thursday night to “The Rock,” aka the Prudential Center in Newark.
New Jersey won two of its first three games on its mini road trip to start the season, but with a cost.

The Devils have already been hit with a plethora of injuries early on to Evgenii Dadonov, Stefan Noesen, Seamus Casey and Johnathan Kovacevic.
However, the biggest hit now comes in net with starting goaltender Jacob Markstrom expected to miss a couple of weeks due to a lower body injury he suffered after he replaced fellow netminder Jake Allen, who left in the 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets early due to cramping on Monday night in Columbus.

Odds courtesy of BetMGM as of Thursday, Oct. 16:
Devils 3, Panthers 1:Â Yes, the injury bug has certainly hit the Devils hard already to start this season. But getting the Panthers on the second half of back-to-back road games for the defending champs is a good spot to be in. The Devils will pull out the victory in a low scoring affair to send fans home happy in the first game at “The Rock” this season.
