The newly rebranded Utah Mammoth have started the new NHL campaign in mixed form. They have already gone 2-2-0 across the first week.

However, they did build momentum in their latest outing after recording a 3-1 home success against the Calgary Flames.

It was an excellent show of character, as they came back from a goal down to score twice in the second period and once in the final frame. JJ Peterka, Barrett Hayton, and Kevin Stenlund scored the goals.

The San Jose Sharks are yet to hit their peak form this term, and they have already spent an extended period on the ice after forcing overtime periods against the Golden Knights and Ducks.

However, that fatigue appeared to catch up to the Sharks on Tuesday, as they were swatted aside by the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Sharks conceded three goals in the second period and two further goals in the final frame. Their only effort in reply was scored by William Eklund.

Utah have won 66.7% of their previous home games against the Sharks.

Despite both teams enduring challenging starts to the campaign, it can’t be overlooked that the Sharks are yet to win a game this term. Therefore, this could be a golden opportunity for the Mammoth to register successive wins.
