DETROIT – Is notorious Boston Bruins fan Happy Gilmore switching teams?
Adam Sandler added a jersey to his collection that’s as iconic as his comedy career.
Currently on his “You’re My Best Friend” tour, Sandler was gifted a personalized Detroit Red Wings Centennial jersey from 313 Presents after his show at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025.
The centennial jersey is designed to honor every era of the team and will be worn during more than a dozen home games in the 2025-26 season.
The jersey features several historic elements, including a tribute to the Detroit Cougars with the “Cougar D” logo, which has been revived as a secondary emblem for the Centennial uniform.
The number font draws inspiration from the Cougars’ famous “Barber Pole” uniforms worn during the 1927-28 season.
Another nod to history comes from the Detroit Falcons era, with striping along the hem, sleeves, and socks inspired by the Falcons’ uniforms from 1930 to 1932.
A special Centennial patch will also appear on all regular-season home and away jerseys.
It remains to be seen if Sandler will join the Red Wings faithful or stay committed to the less popular kid at the Original Six lunch table.
