An insider has given an update on Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks’ search for a middle-six forward on the NHL’s trade market amid Nils Hoglander‘s injury. The Vancouver Canucks are back at the .500 mark in the NHL’s standings after a win on Thursday night in Dallas and despite managing to put up five goals, the club is hoping to make an addition to their roster in the weeks ahead.David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period was the first to report on the matter, saying that the Canucks are eyeing up a middle-six forward due to Nils Hoglander’s injury that’ll keep him out of game action until closer to Christmas.
“The Vancouver Canucks are believed to be looking for a middle-six forward to add to their roster due to winger Nils Hoglander missing the next eight-to-ten weeks because of an injury. Canucks GM Patrik Allvin has been exploring options, according to separate league sources, but it is unclear if a move is imminent.” David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period said recently.
NHL insider gives another update on Vancouver Canucks’ search for forward help
In a recent article for The Fourth Period, David Pagnotta gave another update on the Canucks’ search for forward help and revealed that some teams have even reached out to offer players to Patrik Allvin.
However, Pagnotta went on to add that those teams were seeking a third round pick for the pieces that they had offered and with the quality of players not being what Patrik Allvin was hoping for, he decided to hold off on adding one, for now.
“When (Nils) Hoglander went out (with injury), there were a few teams that reached out to Canucks to say ‘do you wanna replace him; we’ve got this piece, here take this piece and give us a third-round pick and call it a day,’ and those pieces weren’t really desirable, which is why the Canucks held off,” Pagnotta said.
There’s no doubt that Patrik Allvin is going to continue to evaluate his options on the trade front in the weeks ahead, depending on the team’s results, and there have been some interesting names that the club has been linked to that might be a good fit for Adam Foote’s group.
