Explore the Chicago Blackhawks’ promising start this season with strong performances and young talent making an impact.
The Chicago Blackhawks have been one of the early talking points of the NHL this season. Scoring eight goals against a hated rival (one with real playoff aspirations) will do that—lots to like from the hockey club on Madison St.
Tasting Flight – Game Recaps
The Chicago Blackhawks are now 3-2-2 with eight points. The Hawks are in fourth place in the Central Division. Of course, it’s still early in the season (we aren’t even at the 10-game mark), but Hawks fans are feeling optimistic regarding this stretch of wins. The games have been close and competitive. The young players (especially Frank Nazar) are making a difference. It’s a good time to be a Blackhawks fan.
But it’s still only seven games. A lot can change. This is still a rebuilding team.

Closing Time – News Recap
The Chicago Blackhawks released their first episode of “Always An Original,” a docu-series about the Blackhawks’ history. If you’re a history nerd, this is worth checking out. You can read more about where to watch the first episode and future episodes in the link provided.
Landon Slaggert was activated from Injured Reserve on Friday (Oct. 17) and made his season debut on Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks. Slaggert logged about 7:30 minutes of ice time and had one shot on goal and two shot attempts.
Jason Dickinson missed Sunday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks. Dickinson has been dealing with an undisclosed injury since Oct. 9 against the Boston Bruins. He’s played three games since, only missing a game on Oct. 11 against the Montreal Canadiens.
The Blackhawks placed Joey Anderson on waivers on Saturday, Oct. 18, with the intention of sending him to the Rockford IceHogs. Anderson was injured during training camp and was kept on the roster until he recovered. Anderson cleared and was sent to Rockford on Sunday.
More news from Rockford: Nick Lardis scored his first professional goal on Saturday, and Oliver Moore scored two goals in Friday’s win.
