COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Columbus Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner has unveiled “Boone’s Buddies,” a charitable initiative aimed at supporting children and families in central Ohio facing medical challenges.
Partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, Jenner will host families at 20 Blue Jackets home games this season, providing them with a night of joy and respite.
“These kids and their families are going through so much,” Jenner said. “I wanted to give them a night where they could just be together, enjoy the game, and feel like a family without the weight of everything else.”
Dee Anders, Executive Director and CEO of RMHC of Central Ohio, expressed gratitude for the partnership, noting the impact players like Jenner have on families during difficult times.
Boone’s Buddies aims to foster resilience and support through community outreach and advocacy. For more information, visit BlueJackets.com/BooneGivesBack.
