The Red Wings had one of the best starts in the NHL this season. Despite losing the team’s home opener a couple of weeks ago, Detroit bounced back by winning five games in a row, giving fans around Wings Nation some hope that this year’s team will be different.
The winning streak came to an end this past Wednesday, as the Red Wings fell to the Buffalo Sabres, on the road, 4-2. However, they will have a chance to keep their home winning streak intact when they get set to take on a Blues team that is hoping to build off its surprising run to the Stanley Cup Playoffs this past spring.
The Red Wings sure still have some things to fine-tune as the season wears on, but they certainly have the tools to be a competitive team in the Atlantic Division.
Before returning home, Detroit will be visiting the New York Islanders on Thursday night.
