“As the Vancouver Canucks continue to navigate their difficult injury situation, the club is getting to a point where acquire external help will become necessary and hopefully sooner rather than later.”-Jaxon
Code red for Vancouver Canucks as injuries keep piling up.
The Canucks posted on X regarding the status of Teddy Blueger
General Manager Patrick Allvin announced today that F Teddy Blueger has been placed on injured reserve (retroactive to Oct. 19).
The allows the team to open a roster spot while Blueger recovers from an undisclosed injury, suffered most likely last week against the Washington Capitals. By making the designation retroactive, Blueger will be able to come back as soon as he is cleared to play.
Blueger was a free agent signed by the Canucks this offseason, and was brought in to contribute on the penalty kill, and to provide much needed depth down the middle. With Filip Chytil out for an indefinite time frame, bad news keeps piling up for the Canucks and its fans.
It’s time to consider if they just pack it in, accept the team they have and go for a high draft pick next summer, with a very good draft class this year it’s not a bad idea. Otherwise they will have to make a trade and soon or they will fall far behind before their centers can come back to full health.
