On Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings found a will to win in Little Caesars Arena, and they defeated their rivals 6-4 on home ice.

It seems as if the Red Wings turned a corner on Saturday.

Originally starting the game in a hole, they’d work themselves out of a bad situation to overcome a four-goal deficit.

The team would find a way to score two goals consecutively in a timespan of 47 seconds in the third.

Alex DeBrincat would score a goal with 9:59 to play, ensuring the game was tied. Simon Edvinson followed with a goal of his own at 9:12.

After giving the team its first lead, they’d have to find a way to kill a penalty (3:53 remaining).

After Marco Kasper‘s penalty was killed, it was Edvinsson who’d score the game-winning goal, an empty netter with 1:12 left.

The Detroit Red Wings End A Two-Game Slump

The game showed that the Red Wings are a team that can go the extra mile to win a game, with Simon Edvinsson and Alex DeBrincat showing themselves as clutch players tonight.

The team is now 6-3-0 after their win against the St. Louis Blues.

Other Red Wings players would contribute to the success tonight, as both Jonatan Berggren and J.T. Compher had a 2-point night (1-1), with a goal and an assist each.Forward Andrew Copp would get on the scoresheet twice with 2 assists.

All great news for the team, as they had secondary scoring to help break their slump.

If Todd McLellan can inspire the team to play like they did on Saturday every night, a playoff spot isn’t so far off.
