Today, the Boston Bruins called up AHL defenseman Jonathan Aspirot. Aspirot is a 27-year-old defenseman who spent the last six years in the AHL with the Belleville Senators and Calgary Wranglers. After two seasons averaging 30 points with the Calgary Wranglers, Don Sweeney signed Aspirot in the offseason for defensive depth.
Hampus Lindholm’s early-season injury continues to be a storyline for the 2025-26 Boston Bruins. What started as a short-term injury, not related to the knee injury that sidelined him for 65 games, has now turned into an Injured Reserve stint, retroactively to OCT 9, 2025.
Aspirot has skated in five games with the Providence Bruins and has tallied one goal and two assists.
While Michael Callahan has skated in the last two Bruins games, he hasn’t impacted the scoresheet in a positive manner. With Lindholm’s injury becoming more of an issue this season, Don Sweeney is already looking to push buttons on the Bruins’ blueline. Jonathan Aspirot will likely draw into one of the upcoming Bruins games against the Senators, Islanders, or Sabres.
