The Detroit Red Wings return tomorrow night against the St. Louis Blues. They are coming off a 6-4 come-from-behind win over the Blues on Saturday night in which they scored six unanswered goals after going down 4-0 in the first 24 minutes of play. The lineup will look a little different as they have assigned rookie forward Michael Brandsegg-Nygård to Grand Rapids of the AHL.
The move comes after he played in just over 6.5 minutes of ice time in Saturday’s win. In nine games this season, he had an assist and was a minus-five. The move will allow him to continue to work on his game, and he most certainly will be back at some point in the season. This move may also bode well for Patrick Kane, who won’t play tomorrow night but should return on the road trip. The Red Wings have Elmer Soderblom, James van Riemsdyk, and Jonatan Bergrren who can fill the holes needed and complete the lineup.
