Sunday’s NHL nightcap features the San Jose Sharks hosting the Detroit Red Wings.
Detroit enters this contest in good form, winning three of its past four games with two of those three wins coming by at least a two-goal margin. My Red Wings vs. Sharks predictions expect this trend to continue.

Red Wings vs Sharks prediction
Red Wings vs Sharks Best bet: Red Wings -1.5 (+130)
While the San Jose Sharks feature an abundance of exciting young talent, the team is still far from consistently competing at a high level.
The Sharks struggle all over the ice, ranking in the Bottom 7 of the league in both expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60) and expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60).

Meanwhile, the Detroit Red Wings outrank them in each of those two categories.
Not only is Detroit the better team both offensively and defensively, but it also boasts the goaltending advantage with John Gibson expected to start. Over his past four starts, Gibson is 4-2 with a 2.83 GAA.
This success is likely to continue against San Jose, a team Gibson has beaten in three of the past four meetings. Meanwhile, the Sharks are expected to go with Alex Nedeljkovic between the pipes.
Nedeljkovic has surrendered four or more goals in three of his five starts this year, posting an .887 SV% and 3.60 GAA over that stretch. He’s also winless in his past two starts against Detroit.

Red Wings vs Sharks same-game parlay
Forward Alex DeBrincat has played a large role in Detroit’s recent success, scoring in each of the past four games. There’s a strong correlation between him finding the back of the net and defenseman Moritz Seider recording an assist.
Seider assisted on three of those four goals.
