After a strong start to his second USHL season, Lincoln forward Alex Pelletier has announced his commitment to Boston College.
Pelletier, who currently leads the USHL with 13 goals, made the news official just before 5 p.m. on Monday.
“We’re super excited for Alex and he’s earned this opportunity,” Lincoln head coach Rocky Russo told CHN. “No matter where our kids end up, we’re always happy they get to continue their career as NCAA student-athletes, and being able to do it at a prestigious program like Boston College is an excellent opportunity.”
The left-shot forward is listed at 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, and Pelletier had been committed to Cornell since September of 2023. However, he appeared on Lincoln’s line charts this past weekend without a logo beside him.
The Stars went 2-1-0 and are 6-2-0 over their past eight. Lincoln (6-8-0) currently sits sixth in the USHL’s Western Conference with 12 points.
Along with his 13 goals, Pelletier is one of three players tied for the USHL’s point lead (18) and he’s a plus-8. He started the campaign red-hot with 14 points (10-4-14) over his first 10 games and is coming off a four-point weekend. He was named the USHL Forward of the Week once last month.
“He’s one of the first guys at the rink every day and one of the last guys to leave, and he’s a student of the game. So seeing him continue developing how he has is no surprise,” Russo said. “Last year he was an excellent player for us and was able to find a great role, but he’s stepped up and taken on a much bigger role, especially offensively.
“He’s always been a patient person, whether that was spending an extra year at Avon (Old Farms Academy) or an extra year of junior hockey with us now. So he understands the development process and he continues to round out his overall game.”
Pelletier has now skated in 76 career USHL games, along with seven playoff games.
He made his USHL debut with Green Bay during the 2023-24 season and played two games for the Gamblers, followed by 60 games with the Stars last winter. Pelletier put up 16-21-37 over those 60 contests and added four playoff points.
The Granby, Conn., product turns 21 in June and is expected to join the Eagles in the fall.
