Behind a goal and two assists from star center Macklin Celebrini, the Sharks grabbed their fifth win in eight games with a 6-1 rout of the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday night at Climate Pledge Arena.

For a San Jose team that started out slow, the on-ice product is starting to come together — and Wednesday’s win was a shining example that the future is teal. Goalie Yaroslav Askarov had another strong performance with 28 saves, and youngsters Will Smith and Ethan Cardwell also scored in the victory.

“… For the most part, we’re making the right plays, we’re laying our bodies on the line — there was some huge blocks tonight,” Tyler Toffoli said on “Sharks Postgame Live” after the win. “That’s step one of playing winning hockey, and I think we’ve been on a good little run here.

“We’ve just got to stick with it together as a group.”

Celebrini got things started quickly for the Sharks with a first-period goal — his team-leading eighth of the 2025-26 NHL season — on an assist from Toffoli.

After the Kraken tied the game 1-1 on a goal from Ryan Winterton, the Sharks answered back on a Cardwell one-timer with 1:18 left in the first period.

Then, John Klingberg padded the Sharks’ lead in the second period with a power-play goal that made it 3-1.

The Sharks broke things completely open in the third period, with goals from Smith, Ty Dellandrea and Toffoli to sink the Kraken for good.

With his three points in the win, Celebrini tied Connor McDavid for the NHL lead at 21, marking the first time in league history a teenager has been the scoring leader (tied or outright) at this stage of a season, per NHL Public Relations.

Celebrini and the Sharks will look to continue their winning ways when they return to SAP Center on Friday to face the Winnipeg Jets.
