Team Captain Gabe Landeskog set the tone for the Avalanche on Tuesday. Macklin Celebrini is No.1 in the NHL. Also, a jersey teaser from Team Canada and a glorious article regarding an old friend in Colorado, Nikita Zadorov.

All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — November 6.

Colorado Hockey Now

The Avs’ victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning had everything. Solid special teams, depth scoring, and the captain standing up and pitching in any way he can.

If the offense and the speed aren’t yet coming easily for Landeskog, then the physicality and toughness are the way to go. The captain dropped the gloves when the Avalanche were down 1-0. The rest is history.

My 10 Observations piece following the win on Tuesday highlights the captain and his impact on the game.

Around The NHL

Team Canada Jersey Teaser: Hockey Canada released a teaser image of their jerseys on Wednesday ahead of their official reveal today. Based off these pictures, it looks like their obsession with black is sticking around. And I’m not a fan.

Growing up, the classic red and white were always my favorite Canada jerseys. None were better than the ones in 2010. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see what the final product looks like before making a complete judgment.

San Jose Hockey Now: Another day, and another game from Macklin Celebrini that continues to rise him up the ranks as not just one of the best young players in the league, but one of the best in general. The 19-year-old is now tied with Connor McDavid for the league lead in points.

Boston Hockey Now: If you’re still a fan of Nikita Zadorov, then you’ll absolutely love this story.

Vegas Hockey Now: Elliotte Friedman gave an update on injured goalie Adin Hill, and it’s not great.

Philly Hockey Now: When the Flyers acquired Trevor Zegras, it was an opportunity for the young centerman to get a fresh start. He needed a team like the Flyers. But the Flyers needed him more.
