The Chicago Blackhawks (6-5-3) continue their long road trip against the Calgary Flames (4-9-2) at Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday night.

Last time out, the Blackhawks were steered to a 5-2 victory by Tyler Bertuzzi and Spencer Knight against the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. Bertuzzi netted his first hat trick as a member of the Blackhawks, while Knight stockpiled 43 saves to earn his fifth win of the season. Connor Bedard also extended his point streak to six games, as he recorded an assist on one of Bertuzzi’s goals and scored the empty-netter to seal his first career win against his hometown team. The Blackhawks are 1-2-1 during the first four games of their six-game road trip, which concludes in Detroit on Sunday afternoon.

The Flames are coming off two much-need victories, defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 on Sunday and the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-1 on Wednesday. Even still, the Flames are dead-last in the NHL standings entering Friday’s contest, with only 10 points through their first 15 games. Nazem Kadri scored a goal in his 1,000th career NHL game against Columbus, and he leads the Flames with 11 points on the season. Kadri is the only player with more than eight points for Calgary.

Here’s everything to note before puck drops at 8:00 p.m. CT in Calgary.

Blackhawks Regular Season Notes (Last Five Games)

Connor Bedard has taken his game to another level so far in his third NHL campaign. Bedard scored his first NHL hat trick & potted his 50th career goal to lead the Blackhawks to a 7-3 win over the Ottawa Senators.

The young Blackhawks’ blue line was torched by the Jets’ top line of Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele, and Gabriel Vilardi in a 6-3 loss in Winnipeg. Jonathan Toews tallied an assist and got the win in his first matchup against the team he captained to three Stanley Cups.

The first point of the six-game road trip was earned, but the Blackhawks lost for a second consecutive contest, falling 3-2 in overtime to the Edmonton Oilers. Connor Bedard extended his point streak, but Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were too much to handle.

The losing streak has reached three games after a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken. The Blackhawks outshot and outpossessed the Kraken, but they only had one shot beat Joey Daccord in net. Chicago remains winless during their current road trip.

Spencer Knight was stellar in the opening 40 minutes, and Tyler Bertuzzi recorded a third-period hat trick to lift the Blackhawks to their first win during the current road trip. FINALLY, the losing streak to the Vancouver Canucks has ended.
