After a rough start in 2025/26, the Nashville Predators seemingly aren’t contenders again, and now David Pagnotta has revealed one top player to be moved.
Despite having a very solid veteran core, the Nashville Predators have struggled mightily over the past 18 months, and on the back of a slow start this season, it’s likely that they’re going to become sellers in the coming months.
Already there are major rumours surrounding star veteran Steven Stamkos, and after tearing himself apart in a recent interview, chatter has now shifted to another veteran in Ryan O’Reilly.
David Pagnotta Predicts Blockbuster Ryan O’Reilly Trade
At 34-years of age, O’Reilly only has a few seasons left as a top contributor in the NHL, and with 6 goals and 10 points in 16 games played this season, he’s showing once again that he can still be a solid piece for a good team.
Now, he may get that opportunity to contend elsewhere, as NHL Insider David Pagnotta has revealed that O’Reilly is going to be sent somewhere by the Predators, and it most likely involves going to a Stanley Cup contending squad.
They’re gonna send him somewhere – if they do move him – somewhere where it’s gonna be a contender.
At this point of the season, it’s too early to start expecting bidding wars for veterans like O’Reilly, but with not much else on offer at the centre position beyond potentially Nazem Kadri, he could get this team a solid return.
With the Predators sitting at 5-7-4 through their first 16 games, ultimately, it makes sense for this team to sell off some pieces, and if O’Reilly gets them a good return, don’t be shocked to see a deal happen long before the trade deadline.
