Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote has given a key injury update regarding Czech forward Filip Chytil, who hasn’t played in close to three weeks. The Vancouver Canucks are slowly getting some of their injured players back in the lineup most recently forward Conor Garland, who leads the team in points entering action on Saturday, but the club is still awaiting the return of some other key names including Filip Chytil and Jonathan Lekkerimaki.Chytil, who has unfortunately dealt with his fair share of concussion issues throughout his NHL career, left their game on October 19th after he was on the receiving end of an open-ice hit from Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson. To the surprise of many Vancouver Canucks fans, Tom Wilson was not fined or suspended by the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety and nearly three weeks later, the team is still without Filip Chytil, however, an update was given on Friday by Adam Foote regarding the 26-year-old.

Adam Foote gives key injury update on Vancouver Canucks Forward Filip Chytil

While speaking with reporters after practice on Friday, Head Coach Adam Foote revealed that while Filip Chytil is still not working out or on the ice, the Kromeriz, Czech native is getting better and has been “in and out” of Vancouver since suffering his injury 20 days ago.

#Canucks Adam Foote on Filip Chytil: “He’s gotten better, but he’s not yet doing workouts and things like that.” Foote was also asked if Chytil is in Vancouver and said, “He’s been in and out”. – Adam Kierszenblat of The Hockey News shared on X.

There’s still no timeline for Filip Chytil’s return to the Vancouver Canucks lineup, which is understandable if he’s dealing with a concussion, as many are suspecting, because one day he could be feeling fine and the next he could be dealing with some of the lingering symptoms such as headaches, blurred vision, etc.

Given Filip Chytil’s extensive concussion history, the Vancouver Canucks and their medical really need to play it safe here and thankfully, it looks like they’re doing exactly that.

Hopefully Chytil’s recovery continues to go well and that he’ll be cleared to start practicing with the group, even in just a non-contact sweater, within the next few weeks.
