Detroit hockey fans have the opportunity to celebrate their hometown team this weekend as the Detroit Red Wings host the “Hockeytown Centennial Fanfest“, an event meant to honor 100 seasons of Hockeytown.

The fan appreciation event, which will run through Sunday, Nov. 9, celebrates the team’s founding in 1926, honoring the franchise’s illustrious history as one of hockey’s most iconic franchises.

“The vision for Centennial was to create opportunities for fans to relive their favorite moments and celebrate the people that make Red Wings hockey so special,” said Ryan Gustafson, President and CEO of Ilitch Sports + Entertainment in a news release earlier this year.

The team, which unveiled its centennial jerseys earlier this year and is planning more events and exhibits for the rest of the 2025-26 season, is hosting the four-day event at the MotorCity Casino Hotel.

The event features more than 50 alumni appearances, interactive exhibits, exclusive merchandise and photo opportunities, according to NHL.com.

What can I do at the Red Wings fanfest?

The following activities are available at the four-day event. They include:

Alumni Autographs: Alumni including Sergei Fedorov, Nicklas Lidström, Henrik Zetterberg and Chris Chelios, among others, will be in attendance signing autographs. A daily schedule is available online.Hockeytown Exhibit: The custom-built pop-up museum that brings 100 seasons of history to life is filled with authentic artifacts, rare archival materials and interpretive displays that lets fans walk through the evolution of the team from its origin through present day.Stanley Cup Replica Trophy Display: Fans can capture a photo with a Stanley Cup replica, celebrating the Red Wings’ 11 championships, the most of any U.S. franchiseImmersive projection experience: The immersive room transports fans directly into the team’s most iconic plays and unforgettable scenes.Be the Broadcaster Booth: Fans of all ages can recreate iconic calls from Red Wings’ history and experience the thrill of calling games in a broadcast booth.Hockey Skills Challenge: Shoot, score and show your accuracy as this hands-on exhibit allows fans to test their hockey skills.Red Wings Kid Zone: The family-friendly event features arcade games and a crafting station.Facepainting: Express your fandom by getting Wings’ colors, logos and fun designs with festive face paint.Championship Parade: This photo opportunity allows fans to put themselves at the center of a Red Wings championship parade.CAT Fan Experience: This interactive display allows fans to test their luck at claw machines, dozers and other CAT equipment.Merchandise and food: Fans can enjoy curated themed food choices and can also access limited edition gear, collectibles and exclusive designs.Where can I get tickets and how much do they cost?

General admission for the event starts at $35 and gives fans access to exhibits, activations, and special programming.

Single day VIP tickets are also available online and start at $250. While getting access to Hockeytown Centennial FanFest like everyone else, VIP members get exclusive alumni meet and greets, autograph access, unlimited food and beverage in a private VIP lounge, VIP parking, a dedicated entrance, a commemorative credential and a special keepsake.

100 Years of Hockeytown: A Night at the Fox

Additionally, on Saturday, Nov. 8, fans can gain access to a behind-the-scenes Hockeytown journey, told by the icons who lived it.

During a one-night-only production at the Fox Theatre, Red Wings alumni will take the stage, telling stories, personal reflections and defining -moments that shaped the Red Wings’ legacy.

Tickets for the show starting at 7 p.m. are $129.96 each, as of Friday afternoon, with seating only available in the main floor and mezzanine. They can be purchased through the Red Wings’ website.

When is the Hockeytown Centennial Fanfest?

The event is scheduled through the Sunday, Nov. 9. The events take place throughout the weekend.
