The St. Louis Blues made a change to their defence on Sunday, as defenceman Logan Mailloux was assigned to the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds and blueliner Hunter Skinner has been recalled in a corresponding move.
Mailloux, 22, has no points through nine games and a minus-12 rating while averaging 12:33 of ice time per game in his first season with St. Louis.
The former first-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens was a minus-3 in the team’s 6-1 loss to the Washing Capitals on Wednesday, and was a healthy scratch the following two games.
Skinner, 24, has a goal and an assist in 11 games with the Thunderbirds this year. Originally acquired by the Blues via trade from the New York Rangers in 2023, the Wyandotte, Mich., native has 58 points in 214 career AHL regular-season games. He is set to make his NHL debut.
The Blues sit at the bottom of the Central Division standings at 5-8-3 entering play on Sunday.
