LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A Las Vegas-based tavern is twisting the knife into Oilers fans ahead of Monday’s pivotal Game 4.
PKWY Tavern said that it purchased advertisements across 165 billboards throughout the Canadian city in celebration of Game 3’s dramatic win.
Golden Knights forward Reilly Smith scored on a wrist shot with four-tenths of a second left in the third period to put Vegas ahead 4-3.
Ahead of Game 4, PKWY Tavern says 165 billboards will show the clock — 00.4 — with the message “GO KNIGHTS GO!” from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“We put the billboard up in good fun — it’s all part of the spirit of the game,” Jonathan Fine, owner of Fine Entertainment Management, said in a statement. “We’ve got a ton of respect for Edmonton and their fans. A little friendly taunting just makes the rivalry more exciting.”
Edmonton still leads the playoff series 2-1. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday.
