The LA Kings (7-5-4) face the Montreal Canadiens (10-3-2) Tuesday. Puck drop from Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Kings vs. Canadiens odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.
2024-25 season series: Kings won 2-0
The Kings held off the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 Sunday as -159 favorites. RW Corey Perry and RW Kevin Fiala each scored their seventh goals of the season. The 40-year-old Perry has found the fountain of youth with points in 8 of his last 9 games. The Kings are 6-1-2 on the road.
C Nick Suzuki (foot) was out of practice Monday as he has been dealing with a foot ailment, but he was back in there Tuesday morning and should be good to go. He tallied his fourth goal of the season in Saturday’s 6-2 dismantling of the Utah Mammoth as +115 dogs. RW Cole Caufield put 2 in the back of the net to give him 12 on the year, which is tied for second in the league.

Darcy Kuemper (5-3-3, 2.52 GAA, .905 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Sam Montembeault (4-3-1, 3.46 GAA, .864 SV%)
Kuemper has played once in the last 6 days and should be in net for this one. He stopped 31 of 33 in Saturday’s victory over the Pens. In 3 starts this month, he has a 1.70 GAA and .935 SV%. The 35-year-old faced the Habs once last season and stopped 18 of 21 in a 6-3 win.
Montembeault rebounded from a rough stretch in the win over Utah Saturday, stopping 25 of 27. In 5 starts before that, he allowed 4, 3, 6, 4 and 4 goals. The Team Canada hopeful stopped 28 of 31 against the Kings in a 4-1 loss last season.
Kings at Canadiens picks and predictionsPrediction
Kings 3, Canadiens 2
The Habs are fourth in the league at 3.8 goals per game. They’re a young, upstart team that can score on all lines. Many would consider the Kings a boring team. They run a successful 1-3-1 neutral zone trap and have been a team built on goal suppression. LA has a solid defense and a better goalie. That, and the Kings’ sparkling road record swings the pendulum for me. Give me KINGS (-110).
We mentioned Perry has a point in 8 of 9 games. And you’re going to give us plus-money for a point? Give me COREY PERRY OVER 0.5 POINTS (+105).
If this goes Over, it’s because something was wrong on LA’s defensive end. The last meeting saw 9 goals, but we had fewer than 6 in 4 previous matchups. I’ll go UNDER 6 (-115).
