The Nashville Predators future is looking bleak at best, and now, Frank Seravalli has revealed the locker room has a toxic energy that is leading to major struggles.

Over the past few years, the Nashville Predators core group of veterans has struggled to compete for a Stanley Cup, and even after adding some big names in free agency, those struggles have continued.

Now, through 18 games, the team sit in 31st in the overall NHL standings, and with the team having very few stars coming through the organization, the future looks bleak at best.

Following the slow start, there have been many trade rumours surrounding the Predators, and given that they won’t be competing for a post-season spot in 2025/26, the next few months are going to be rough.

Frank Seravalli reveals toxic locker room in Nashville

As a result, things in the Predators locker room haven’t been going well, as NHL Insider Frank Seravalli has revealed that there’s a toxic energy in the locker room, speculating that given it’s going to be difficult to make trades, they may end up looking at a coaching change.

The vibes are not high; it seems to be a toxic energy that’s there, and they need…to flush that; it’s gonna difficult for Trotz to move some of those veteran contracts; I think they have to just make a [coaching] change.

This has likely been a long time coming given the big personalities and the underperforming stars in the Predators locker room, with the future so uncertain in Nashville moving forward.

Ultimately, locker rooms are likely toxic for any struggling team that came into a season with expectations, and while we haven’t seen things break down in the public eye yet, it’s only a matter of time until we see some big changes coming in Nashville.
